Hello World!!

As a programmer, there’s something satisfying about writing the shortest compilable or executable program in a new language you’re learning. The same is true about a new website and blogging platform.

Hello World!!

For the past 12 years my identity had been entirely tied to Socrata - the company I founded in 2007. Even the sole email address I used was my @socrata.com address. Socrata was acquired in mid-2018 by Tyler Technologies, where I’m now the President of the Data & Insights division and I now have an @tylertech.com email address.. But I have some extracurricular professional interests including angel investing and generally trying to help the next generation of entrepreneurs any way I can.

So over the holiday break I decided to set up this new website. At Socrata I wrote a weekly employee newsletter called Big Ideas & Creative Execution, sharing what I thought were the three or four topics every Socratizen needed to know that week.. I enjoy writing and so it was important to have a place where I could write short and long-form blog posts. This is it.
